Carmen C. Mendez began her journey on January 17, 1933 in Waco, Texas and her eternal life began on September 1st 2020. 

She is survived by her daughters Lillian McArthur (Lance), Cynthia Carter (Brian), Rosanne Brumley (Michael), Josie Mendez, daughter-in-law.

Carmen is preceded in death by her only son, Rudy Mendez, Jr., her sister, Mary Alice Rosales and her parents Josephine and Jesse Cuellar, Sr.

She will be remembered and cherished by her grandchildren Shannon Gutierrez, Eric Carter, Frank & Michael Mendez, Kaylee McArthur & Lauren Schwartz; great-grandchildren Anthony & Joey Gutierrez, Madison & Brooklyn Fiberth, Eric Alexander & Ayanna Carter, Frank, Jr., Nevaeh, Lorenzo & Drezel Mendez, Ryland & Brantley Schwartz, Mariah Mendez; great-great grandchildren Alysa, Jasmine & Christopher Gutierrez; sister Emily Zepeda; brother Jesse Cuellar, Jr. & numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her special friends Elida & Beto Lozano, her best friend of 50+ years Olga Rivera and many other friends.

Carmen was a kind, loving, tender hearted person with an amazing smile and that never met a stranger.  She had a sincere heart with a great love for her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.  Her biggest success was raising three daughters and one son to be independent, well-rounded and as caring as she was.  Carmen C. Mendez will be missed and always remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and Friday, September 4, 2020 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a service at 12:30 p.m. An interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, Texas 77075.

Due to COVID and restaurant restrictions a reception will not be held at this time. Thank you for your understanding during this time – Mendez Family
