Calvin Correll was born in Mansfield, La, 04/11/1934 to Eutha and William Correll. Was the youngest of 3. He had a brother Travis and a sister. Moved to Beaumont, TX where he Graduated from South Park HS in 1952. He met his first wife LaVaughn in 1952 was married 29 yrs until she passed in 1983. Enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 Served 2 5yr tour and was honorably discharged in 1965. Calvin Started his career at NASA in 1965. After a long and respectful career retired in 2008. Met his second wife Nancy in 1989 was married 27 years until she passed in 2015.

Calvin was both a wonderful speaker and listener, as many can attest. he was selfless in giving his wisdom, his heart, and the shirt off his back if he needed to. everyone loved his stories. He would go all the way back to his childhood and talk about how he learned to play dominoes in the house on the hill. he called it the shotgun house. a house he helped build.Calvin also used stories in teaching his children about working hard and not to look for the easy way around but the Best way. He often said, “When times get tough you must work extra hard and gives thanks for the job you have or the one you just found.” Like the story he would tell about working at an ice company delivering blocks of ice from to work from dawn to dusk. And in the winter how he had to carry the blocks of ice up the stairs on his back without a shirt. Also he would tell of the many times he had to walk to school through the snow, uphill, both ways without any shoes or a jacket. And how thankful he was for having the chance to go to school and learn.

Later in life, he passed down these stories to his grandchildren. He would recount his life’s stories and impart wisdom and humor at every thanksgiving dinner. He was always kind, gentle, and had the spunkiest sense of humor, making everyone around him smile and laugh.

He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. it was a great pleasure having him in all of our lives. he will be missed greatly. Calvin will always occupy a place in everyone’s hearts.

Calvin is survived by his son Robert Correll and Kevin Correll; Daughter in-laws: Kathrin Correll and Martha Williams-Correll; Grand Children: Nathalie Ulrich-Hicks, Paige Correll, Emily Correll, Jonathan Correll, Celester Horton, and Joshua Correll.
