Billy Owen was born on October 10, 1943, and passed away on November 6, 2020.  Billy is survived by his wife, Karen Ann Owen; his son, William “Bubba” Owen; his daughter, London Shelton; and son-in-law, Richard Shelton; his grandchild, Courtney Alba; and his great-grandchildren, Alijah Alba, Amelia “Millie” Alba, and Adaliah “Dollie” Alba; his sister, Elizabeth Carroll; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was a diesel mechanic by trade and always worked hard to provide for his family.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone and he almost always did.  He loved to fish and when he couldn’t make it to a lake, he loved to tinker around with all of his fishing poles and lures.  Billy loved to watch baseball, Westerns, and Nascar.  As Billy aged, he loved to tell the stories of his youth, color in his books, and he ended up trading in the cold beer for some cold Blue Bell ice cream.

On a personal note, Billy loved his kids.  Dad always provided for us and would give us his last dollar if we needed it.   He always let us know how proud he was and how much he loved us.  I can’t remember ever ending a conversation without him saying “I love you”.  He was a good dad and we will miss him for the rest of our days.
