Josie Flores was a loving and feisty woman who was mean at times BUT SHE WAS DEEPLY LOVED. She was born in Bigfoot, TX on March 19, 1938 and passed away in Houston, TX on December 5, 2020 . . . when no one was looking. She finally made her great escape!!!!
Josie was diagnosed with Dementia but she enjoyed her children and grandchildren to the fullest . Sometimes she would forget who someone was but she always remembered if she liked you OR NOT. She was happy and content to be here for her great grand children. Even the Practice Baby Nana had to carry around for school!! She would always ask Nana, “Mija, where’s your baby?” She loved her Coke Cola and Chocolates more than anything. Oh wait.. eating Sour Patch Kids and watching Criminal Minds was her favorite thing to do. Bingo was always on her mind. She didn’t get to go often but she loved her Bingo. This woman LOVED food! She always ate but swore we never fed her! She liked chile on most things and always said PICADITS. She had this emerald green night gown that miraculously never fell apart and a green windbreaker jacket that held a bunch of napkins and anything else she found that would fit in there. She was a smoker but cut down in the last few months, not by choice of course, so she would always be waiting for Ms. Juanita.
This grannie was always ready to go to her Pueblo. And when the kids tried to stop her… they realized how quick she was with her cane! She always said she didn’t have favorites but everyone knew who it was… Angelo. We can argue about that later. She had a good judge of character when it came to who was around her Sophia. Right pia? Lol. Music was a big part of her life and dancing! She loved dancing. And going for walks to enjoy nature or picking pecans. She would crack and eat them as she was walking. She loved chismoreando!
She reconciled with the Lord and she was ready to go home. Her wings were ready but our hearts were not. Her smile and hugs will be greatly missed.

Mija, she already knew that she was leaving us that’s why she gave herself to the Lord, she was preparing herself to be with her mom and dad our Grandma and Grandpa! I know deep down in my heart ❤️ that she is very happy because our family who aren’t in heaven welcomed her with open arms! That’s why I know she’s happy!
