1962-2021

Barbara Robles, age 58, of Pasadena, TX passed away on January 22, 2021. Barbara was born in Laurel, Mississippi on February 1, 1962 to her late parents, Bessie Arnaud and Noel Tolar. She grew up in Pasadena, TX alongside her family where she spent most of her life working for and serving her community.

She treasured being a mother and her legacy of compassion for others, finding humor even when things are hard, and leaning on the Lord for strength will live on through her two daughters. She loved her brothers and sisters tremendously and the bond with her siblings runs deep. While she was many things to many people, her most favorite role in life was being a grandmother and she made sure her grandsons knew every day how much they were loved. She married Ricardo (Ricky) Zuniga on April 17, 2011; Barbara and Ricky went through life’s triumphs and trials always at one another’s side.

She worked many jobs throughout her life, but most recently she was proud to spend the last 8 years of her time working for the City of Pasadena in Parks & Recreation where she made meaningful relationships and touched many lives. She loved to laugh, never met a stranger, and was incredibly selfless. She is so loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by Ricardo Zuniga (husband), Felicia Stubbs (daughter), Eric Stubbs (son-in-law), Timmy Stubbs (grandson), Crede Stubbs (grandson), Luke Stubbs (grandson), Cassy Hagler (daughter), Todd Hagler (son-in-law), Rebecca Tolar (sister), Richard Tolar (brother), Brenda Hicks (sister), Frances Mahdy (sister), Hazel Lyle (sister), Debra Jensen (sister), Samuel Tolar (brother), and Janet Clark (sister). She is preceded in death by Noel Tolar (father), Bessie Arnaud (mother), Sharon Dobbs (sister), and Donna Forester (sister).

A service for family and friends will be held in celebration of her life at Noon on January 28, 2021 at Old River Baptist Church 12948 FM 1409, Dayton, TX 77535.

I was heartbroken to read about Barbara’s passing. I felt so connected to Barbara even though it was all through social media. I loved reading her “Grandma” stories and events with her grandsons. I could feel the love she had for them and how proud she was of them. May her legacy live on and her soul Rest In Peace.
