On January 27, 2021, Maurice Frank Mikeska, passed away peacefully after family was able to say goodbye. He has been called home to God and our Mom and Dad. Maurice was 59 years old.

Maurice was born in Houston, TX on December 16th, 1961. He never married. He was the 4th son and number 6 of seven siblings.

Maurice attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary and Grade School then onward to Mt. Carmel High School where he graduated in 1980. He then went to work for Shine Transmission for over 20 years, Walmart Automotive for 13 years, then a security guard for Super Bowl LI and Kroger then the Parking Spot Driver in which he loved doing. Maurice was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4577 and Volunteered for over 20 years at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Maurice loved beer. His second love was Paul’s Ice House. He loved visiting different brewerys and collecting Growlers from Texas to Colorado. Maurice’s Mazda was his baby. For all who knew Muarice, dipping Skoal, beer and being Czech was his pride. “jak se máš” (How are you doing?)

Maurice is preceded in death by Frank Marvin Mikeska 7-12-1987 and Marguerite Jane Mikeska 9-6-2017. He is survived by sisters; Sandra Bickers, Jeanette Mushinski, Michele Whitt and Rebecca Mould, brothers: Robert Mikeska and Stephen Mikeska. 13 Nieces and Nephews: Craig, Curtis, Kevin, Kimberly, Jennifer, Jason, Jessica, Andrew, Brody, Nicolas, Mallory, Ashleigh and Paige; 16 Great Nieces and Nephews: Aiden, Sidney, Bailey, Ali, McKinley, Clayton, Jace, Augustus, Annastyn, Cash, Slaide, Rex, Rowan, Kaius, Braelyn and Barrett.

Visitation for Maurice will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 3 – 6 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, TX 77075. Rosary will begin at 4 p.m. For those unable to attend, please see Facebook Live Link below.

    I will miss my “almost” birthday buddy. I know you wished so much to share birthdays. I enjoyed calling you every December 16th and will never forget celebrating our birthday in Vegas! Till we meet again, keep the beer cold in heaven.

      So sorry to hear this news. Maurice was much younger, after both DeeAnn and I graduated from MCHS. Much live and prayers to all the Mikeskas. Not on Facebook, just saw post when looking up MCHS history.
