Raymond Will Hlavaty Jr., 65, was reunited with his wife Bertha Alicia Hlavaty and his parents Raymond Sr. and Elsie Ann Hlavaty on Saturday, May 8, 2021.  He retired from the trucking industry where he was proud to say that he was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Raymond Hlavaty Jr. was survived by his children Becky Ann Villa (Carlos) and Raymond Hlavaty III (MaryJane); grandchildren Jacob Ramirez (Summer), Raul Villa Jr., Raymond Hlavaty IV, Destiny Zepeda, Arthur Torres and Sarah Reyes; great-grandchildren Jacob Ramirez Jr., Juliette Ramirez and AJ Ramirez.

Raymond Hlavaty was an extraordinary, congenial and good hearted person.  He made friends everywhere he’d go and never met a stranger.  One of his quotes was “Everybody loves Raymond” because he knew he was a likable person.  He was also generous, he would give you the shirt off his back.  Raymond loved his family and would do anything and everything for them.  He made sure his daughter graduated from high school.  If she needed transportation to school or to work he was there.  He was also very supportive of his son Raymond III graduating from St. Thomas University.  He was very proud of his children and talked very highly of them.  Some of his favorite times were barbequing, drinking beer, listening to classic rock, going to the drag races in Baytown and watching sports.  He lived life to the fullest!  His two favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs (not a big fan of the Texans).  Raymond always had jokes, he would give nicknames to people for example he would call Carlos “Carl”, Melissa “Missy”, Cheryl “Cheryl Burke”  (dancing with the stars), Destiny “Destiny’s Child”, Benji “Crazy Benji” etc.  Raymond Will Hlavaty Jr. will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a vigil beginning at 6 p.m.  at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, TX 77075  There will be a celebration of life to follow at Hawthorne at Crenshaw, 4811 E. Sam Houston Pkwy S., Pasadena, TX 77505 at 7:30 p.m.  Burial will take place at New Tabor Cemetery in Caldwell, Texas Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11 a.m.

Raymond was a staunch friend, I’m proud to have known him and call him friend. I can fondly recall sitting and talking to him for hours on the porch. I miss him already……

Daughter in law speaking. I miss him greatly, he always was there in our times of need, never put me down. He was always there for me and my husband, every time we needed something he had our back. I will miss my father in law. He was the best , always excepted my kids, had good things to say about my kids , he was always generous. Never said no in our time of need. He was just a kind blessing man , even if anyone never seen it , you had to just know him . My kids will always remember him , we wish he never passed, he loved and talked about his passing relatives, he wanted to be with his passing family, now he can rest in peace with all his family especially his wife Bertha , and be in peace. We will always remember everything he did when he was here in this world, one day we will be with him , love you Raymond, one day we will meet in heaven. In the time you were here you engraved a heart within us, my family, we will never forget you ,but I know we have to let you go. I wish you were still here for your son , my husband, he misses you and he will never forget the memories you gave him !love you ❤️ Mrs MaryJane Hlavaty
