Michael Louis Simon, 59, passed away on September 21, 2021. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, raised in Houston. He was born to Gilbert A. Simon & Virginia L. Simon on July 22, 1962. Michael is survived by his children, Jennifer Grizzaffi, Erica Simon, Stephen Simon, and Mathew Parker. His mother, Virginia Simon, 7 siblings – Gilbert, Gilinda, Paul, Sandra, Nicholas, Lorie, and Melissa. Along with numerous family members and let’s not forget, all of his friends.

At 12,  Michael started playing the violin and was immediately noticed as a remarkable, talented musician. His musical career took off shortly after. He graduated from South Houston High where he made lifelong friends, most who were also involved with music as are his children. He played the accoustic while sitting on the floor surrounded by kids during many family gatherings over the years.

Mike played with several famous musicians such as Willie Nelson, the All Man Bros. and a few others. He also worked on Keanu Reeves’ guitars. He traveled the United States as a musician. Mike sacrificed many holidays because he volunteered to feed, serve and perform for the homeless. He cared for those in need. Mike must have done over 150 benefits to raise money for people in need. Mike’s whole life was about music so when we see a guitar, we think of Mike.

Mike and I played in a bunch of bands and jammed together a lot when we were a lot younger. One band that was a lot of fun was Jr. And Company. Only lasted a few months but we had a blast. While working at Rocking Robin he spotted my P Bas that had been stolen. He helped me get it back. Thats just who he was. I had not talked to him for quite a while but I thought of him from time to time when thinking about playing back then or cutting up in guitar class at Miley or so many other things. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers for the family.
