Pete C. Calderas Jr. was born in Harlingen, Texas to Pedro Calderas and Minè Chamberlin Calderas in 1940 Plus 1.
Pete was one of seven children. His father worked in the concrete industry and he taught our father and his sons this Trade, this was a very difficult job to perform… Our father was very hardworking, even as a young man. He delivered Local City papers when he was young boy, so that he could go to private Catholic School. He bought his family the first TV they ever had.

Pete went to Harlingen High School and met his wonderful and amazing wife Mary in Junior High/9th grade. Dad was 15 and mom was 16. Eleven years later, they got married on December 23rd, 1967. Prior to his marriage, Dad joined the Army National Guard when he was 19 in 1960. His unit was activated during the Bay of Pigs. He completed his time served with the United States Army National Guard and received his honorable discharge. Shortly after marrying, he left with his lovely wife to Houston, Texas. He soon found work at Hunt Engine and Equipment in the Summer of 1968. He then found work in the Oil Industry for a company called Brown & Root and worked in the Galena Park location as well as working Offshore.

Pete Jr. and Mary welcomed their first child, Pedro Calderas III on November 20th 1970. Roughly four years later, Pete and Mary welcomed their second child, Christopher David Calderas. Around the same time, the family relocated to Pasadena, Texas.

Pete Calderas Jr. was an avid sports fan who had season tickets to both the Houston Astros and well as the Houston Oilers. He loved showing off his family and spending quality time with them. He would take his family as often as he could to his hometown of Harlingen, Texas. and on vacations across Texas and into Mexico. We cannot word how much he loved his family.

He cared about the details and there always had to be a plan. He would bring gifts both small and large to his family just because he cared about them. He went to see his kids play sports and loved taking his family to eat at The Catfish Kitchen!

Later in life he retired from Working at the age 59. As our mother has explained to us… He loved his retirement. He really enjoyed it because it was really the next chapter of his life that was his greatest.

Shortly before he retired, he had his first grand daughter and then through the years… he was Popo to 5 Grand Daughters and 4 Grandsons. During these Years it was Wife, Grandkids, Family, Food and Sports. Pete really enjoyed his life with all his family. He loved and truly enjoyed his time with his FAMILY… He taught us a lot of things that we hold dear to this day and that will forge through the years to come… He was an AMAZING husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was truly a Selfless man. He cared so much for people and always looked for the best in them. He taught us how to love, forgive and empathize. He taught us the MEANING of Family. He was truly a wonderful man and made his mark with all whom he came across.

He will be missed by all whom loved him and we know there will always be apart of him that will live on forever.
