Angelina Saucedo Zarate

Mrs. Angelina Saucedo Zarate, 87, of Houston, TX was called home to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Angelina was born in Houston, TX on February 11, 1936, and lived most of her life in Pasadena, TX. Angelina was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Marcelino Zarate (2006), her youngest son, Mario Zarate (2007), her daughter-in-law, Irma Olivares Zarate (1994), her parents, Herminia Alaniz (1975), Benito Saucedo, and all 9 of her beloved sisters and brothers. Angelina leaves behind many loving memories that shall live on through her eldest son, Jimmy Saucedo Zarate, and her beloved grandchildren, Ursula Nicole Velvin (Zarate) and husband, Randy; Jimmy Nathan Zarate and wife, Yvette; Jarrett Neil Zarate and husband, Onur; and Marcellita Montes (Zarate) and husband, Jose. Angelina also leaves behind 9 beautiful great-grandchildren, Lance Dylan Velvin, Liv Nicole Velvin, Jimmy Nathan Zarate Jr., Zoey Jane Zarate, Isaiais Pumarejo, Isaac Pumarejo, Giovanni Montes, Amri Jayde Zarate, and David Christian Zarate. Many fond and dear memories of Angelina will also live on in the hearts of her many beloved nieces and nephews, and their families.

Angelina and her husband Marcelino enjoyed nearly 20 years as successful restaurant owners serving the Houston and Pasadena areas, making great food for their many happy customers. They also owned and operated a meat and fruit market in Pasadena and spent several years as members of the Asociación de Charros de Houston. Angelina was a generous and family-oriented woman who spent her life caring for others, always had a quick wit, and loved to have fun and joke around. Angelina will be remembered as a wonderful and loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and super cheeseburger chef.

Funeral Service Information

Memorial services have been entrusted to Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd. On Monday, June 5, 2023, the immediate family welcomes extended family and friends to join them for visitation from 10 am to 12:45 pm. A short funeral service will also commence in the chapel at 11:30 am. Light refreshments will be available.

Graveside services will follow the same day at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, at 2 pm. There will not be a police-escorted procession to the cemetery. The family kindly asks all attendees to make their way to the cemetery separately.
