Rogelio Mendoza Sr., age 75, passed away on March 15, 2024, with his family by his side in Webster, TX. He was born May 7, 1948, in Montemoreles, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to his parents, Lilia Garza de Mendoza and Jose Mendoza Oyerbides. He was a very loving husband, dad, brother, grand-father, and great-grand-father. Rogelio loved to spend time outdoors. You could always find him playing outside with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed pulling them around on their wagon. He enjoyed receiving the seedlings from his grandchildren and then growing whatever it was into a beautiful healthy plant.  Mr. Mendoza had a huge green thumb and could grow anything.  Before getting sick with his illness, he enjoyed eating his vegetables and fruits and he enjoyed attending church with his wife at Open Door Church. He is a man who loved his family, and his family loved him. Aside from loving his family, He loved his Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Mendoza is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jose Daniel Mendoza Sr., one sister, Esthela Mendoza Hermosillo, and one nephew, Jose Daniel Mendoza Salazar Jr.

He met the love of his life and married her on April 15, 1975, Elizabeth Ann Becerra Mendoza. They would have celebrated 49 years this coming April the 15th.   He is survived by his children; Rogelio “Roy” Mendoza Jr., Brenda Leigh Mendoza, and Alex Rene Mendoza and his wife Berenis Mendoza. Mr. Mendoza was blessed with 7 grandchildren, one great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way.  He also leaves behind is siblings; Manuel Mendoza and his wife Laura Frey de Mendoza, Ricardo Mendoza and his wife Faustina Rodriguez de Mendoza, Juana Mendoza Rangel and her husband Rodolfo Rangel, Antonio Mendoza and his wife Ma de Jesus Jaramillo de Mendoza, Guadalupe Mendoza Cazares and her husband Jose Cazares, and Ma dela luz Mendoza Gomez and her husband Gilberto Gomez.   One sister-in-law, Rosa Salazar de Mendoza, one brother-in-law, Jesus Hermosillo, and one niece by marriage, Sandra Mendoza. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

His family received guests on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. at Open Door Church located at 615 W. Sealy St., Alvin, TX.77511.

A Celebration of his life will begin at 7:00P.M.
