Jose Antonio Escamilla was called to be with the Lord on February 21, 2024. He was born in Rio Hondo, Texas on May 28, 1965 to Mariano And Evangelina Escamilla. He graduated from Austin High School with exceptional grades and was the starting pitcher for the Mustangs. He began his long career in produce management working for Kroger’s, Fiesta and Seller Bros as the night shift supervisor before ultimately settling for a night store clerk at a gas station near his apt. On top of working 6 days 12 hour shifts he would help his son Jose Daniel Escamilla run a mobile on-demand delivery service during the day. He was no stranger to hard work.

His love and devotion to helping in whatever way he could for his family was remarkable. He would give you the last few dollars in his pocket if it meant you needed to eat something. And he would help the next day on 4hrs sleep if you needed to get a job done early in the morning or car repair. If he wasn’t talking about sports like the Astros or Texans he was usually telling one of his wacky customer stories to get a laugh. He was always asking about how his sons or daughter or granddaughter was doing and wished them well. Seeing the people he loved happy meant everything to him. And sometimes that meant he would have to avoid some family or events to keep the peace. But if you ever needed him all you had to do was ask. And he would be there.

Jose is survived by his wife Maria R Escamilla; his last surviving sibling his sister Leonila Sanchez; his five children Jose Daniel Escamilla, Philip Andrew Escamilla, Mark Anthony Escamilla, Monique Eileen Escamilla, Michael Jesse Escamilla and granddaughter Isabella Miracle Escamilla.
